After experiencing the journey of caring for my own parents, I realized the immense toll that caregiving can take on a person and family. While it is often a heartfelt rewarding experience, it is also exhausting, confusing, and filled with grief. As a holistic health practitioner I know that I would have been lost without the many tools I had been using in the years prior. As a part of my healing, I wrote this book, Care Grieve, Grow - Caring For Your Aging Parents While Caring For Yourself. It was cathartic for me and I hope helpful to others who are on a similar journey.
If you are caring for aging parents in declining health, chances are you are overwhelmed with thoughts of how you will get through this difficult time. Caring, grieving and growing” is not a linear experience to be sure. It happens all at once and contains within it various aspects of life. Caring for our aging parents is about much more than “caring for our aging parents.” It’s about us, our history with our families, our relationship with our parents, and our views on life and death. Regardless of the kind of relationship we have with our parents, their decline and eventual deaths, rarely passes by as an insignificant event in our lives. Karen's helpful book will guide you through the experience. Available on Amazon.
This is an excellent guide for family and unpaid caregivers.
